The Civic Archaeological Museum of Noto (Mucian) is housed in the old convent of the Santissimo Salvatore. Its ten rooms contain hundreds of artifacts from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages. They were found during dozens of excavations carried out between Monte Finocchito and the necropolis of Castelluccio. The initial nucleus of the Civic Archaeological Museum of Noto consists of a series of relics found at the beginning of the 20th century. The collection was later enriched by the archaeological researches carried out on the site of Noto Antica. Some excavations carried out inside the Convent of the Most Holy Redeemer brought to light a Hellenistic necropolis, which can be seen inside the museum. Among the most interesting finds that can be admired are: the Gymnasium epigraph found in Noto Antica and the remains of the sanctuary of Demeter and Kore from ancient Eloro.
