The Alicudi Porto beach is the only one on the island that is easily accessible on foot. It is located on the south-east coast and is a pebbly shoreline that runs the entire length of Alicudi. The long, narrow beach runs on either side of the harbour. If you head south, you will come across the Scoglio della Palomba (Palomba Rock) and the Perciato. The latter is a perforated volcanic rock, which in the Sicilian dialect is called “perciata”. As the beach is stoney, it is advisable to bring a beach bed to lie on and water shoes to make it easier to get into the water. Of course, there is no lido, so you should also bring a parasol. The Alicudi fishing boats are often moored on the beach and their bright colours add to the scenic beauty of this corner of the island.
