Ancient arch of Castelmola

The Cathedral of Castelmola, dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari, is the main church of the village. Its current appearance is a mixture of different styles and is the result of the reconstruction after World War I.

The Bar Turrisi is one of the places not to be missed when visiting the village of Castelmola. Its worldwide fame is due to its very special decor. Everything inside is shaped like or resembles a phallus

The Antico Caffè San Giorgio is one of the historical places of Castelmola, located in Piazza Sant’Antonio, at the entrance of the village. It was here, at the beginning of the 20th century, that the most typical product of the village was born: almond wine.

The church of San Biagio is one of the oldest churches in Castelmola. The small building is located near a rocky ridge, in a truly panoramic position. From the church square you can admire Mount Etna, Taormina and Giardini Naxos.

The Castle of Mola is one of the most beautiful monuments in the village of Castelmola. There is very little information about its construction, but historians think that it could date back to the Roman period.

Piazza Sant’Antonio is the main square of Castelmola and the entrance to the village. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama that includes Taormina with its castle and the Strait of Messina.

The Castelmola Auditorium is located in Piazza Sant’Antonio, right at the beginning of the city and next to one of its symbols: the ancient Roman arch. It is housed in the ancient church of Sant’Antonio, built between 1400 and 1500.

The church of San Giorgio is one of the most important churches in Castelmola. It houses the precious statue of the saint, which is carried in procession through the streets of the village every year on the feast day of April 23.
