The Teatro Donnafugata, the only one in the city of Ragusa, is located inside the Palazzo Arezzo di Donnafugata. It was built in the second half of the 19th century, as part of a larger project for the renovation of the palace, requested by Baron Corrado Arezzo de Spuches. It was a place of private entertainment for the baron and his guests and access was through a trap door presented in the palace garden. The restoration began in 1997 and was completed in 2004. At that time an external entrance was created, making it a theater open to the public. The Donnafugata Theater has 100 seats, making it one of the smallest theaters in Europe. Despite its small size, there is also a small pit that can accommodate a mini orchestra of 3 or 4 elements.
