The Obsculta Museum is an exhibition space created in 2011 inside the Benedictine convent of the Church of San Giuseppe in Ragusa. It is located in the area of the deambulatory, a corridor behind the choir of the church, from which the nuns observed the services through the so-called “gelosie”. These were special grids that allowed them to observe without being seen. Through a collection of documents, objects, works of art and images, the museum bears witness to the history and life of the Benedictine community.
